Monkeypox Virus is a disease caused by Monkeypox Virus (MPXV). It could exist both in humans and animals. The clinical symptoms of human are fever, rash and lymphadenectasis. The human clinical symptoms are similar to those from smallpox patients. Humans may get infected either directly from infected animals or humans. The infectious sources are mainly blood and body fluid.
QuantiVirus™ Monkeypox Antigen Test is a rapid and convenient lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of monkeypox virus antigen in human lesion swabs (collected from patients presenting with an acute pustular or vesicular rash). It is used as an aid in the diagnosis of detecting monkeypox virus infection. This assay only provides preliminary results. It is recommended to seek medical advice and professional diagnosis in conjunction with the test result.
